Regional air mobility refers to the transportation of passengers aboard small aircraft over short distances. These operations are challenging due low passenger volumes, competing modes, and high operating costs. Nevertheless, recent convergence new technologies for electric propulsion autonomy brings promise step-changes in both efficiency sustainability. The next challenge is define concepts that best use these advanced aircraft. We develop a modeling optimization environment address this by first estimating demand regional mobility, then concurrently optimizing fleet assignment scheduling operations.
